Part of my job at NYC & Company is providing creative direction for select City projects. The largest and most important by far is OneNYC, a 332-page book produced for the de Blasio administration. I oversaw the team of designers and writers who brought this project to life. The project is not just a publication: we designed custom icons and infographics that will be rolled out across the web, social media, and related publications throughout the next year. The work encompasses all the parts needed for future City branding.
The cover is specifically designed to photograph well at press events. (We even go so far as to make sure no type is blocked when it's held up.) We've done this for all the publications we've made for City Hall. Here's the proof that it works:
